At last it was game on in the Richardson cup away at Stoneclough with both sides looking to progress to the next round the game started fast and furious with Stoneclough getting the ball into the Coppull penalty area at every opportunity. Then on 10 minutes against the run of play Phil Dennett played a great ball for Danny Smith to run onto breaking into the box only to be dragged down for a certain penalty up stepped Tony Hartley who calmly stroked the ball home from the spot to give Coppull the lead.  Stoneclugh continued to press and without some outstanding defending from Dave Taylor, Tony Hartley Phil Dennett and Lee Gelder  and a great save from Gavin King just before half time Coppull could have seen the home side draw level.

Looking to increase their lead Coppull started the hotly contested 2^nd half the brighter with Mark Hine working tirelessly up front coming closest on 15 minutes when his well struck shot went just past the post.  Coppull now looked to be getting the better of the midfield battle with Jack Thornton, Alan Taylor and Lee Cooper starting to boss the game with some fierce tackling, and where rewarded on 30 minutes when Dean Cooper rose above the Stoneclough defence to head home a great Danny Smith corner.  Coppull settled down and continued to battle hard and with 5 minutes to go Ben Hyde sealed the game when he ran on to a Dean Cooper through ball and slotted the ball past the oncoming keeper to put Coppull into the next round.
